STARTING DATE:  August 2026

 

SALARY:   Appropriate placement on the Teachers' Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education, ranging from $68,419.00 to $92,896.00 annually.

 

REPORTS TO:     Principal or Designee

WORK-WEEK/YEAR:    184 days per year as per the Board-adopted calendar. 

                                                                          

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:     Valid Ohio Teacher Licensure/Certification (010101 and 010200), or ability to obtain. Bachelor's degree in a related course of study. A minimum of five years' experience working in a vet clinic, and three of the five must be current. Candidates must hold training certificates related to animal health, biosecurity, or livestock management. Experience working with both large and small animals. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to build rapport with high school students and many other stakeholders. Strong organizational skills. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 70 lbs. Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions. Ability to work cooperatively with a team. Effective written and oral communication skills. Valid Driver's License. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Outlook.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:     Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT), and/or Master's Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or Education. Knowledge of career technical education, and personal knowledge of the Medina County Career Center successes and history. Prior related experience preferred. Industry credentials and/or an apprenticeship in the relevant field. Possess OSHA 30-hour certification.
